Judge/Executive Humphries announces the formation of new committess to deal better with issues and problems facing the county. These committees include Budget, Grounds, Recreation, Emergency Services, and Roads.

Republican magistrate Jon Goodwin nominated for the Project Development Board that will oversee the construction of the new courthouse.
January 1, 2007
Three Republican magistrates Goodwin, Littlejohn, and Terrell are sworn in with Judge/Executive Stan Humphries. The first meeting of the new fiscal court occurs January 2 in the courthouse in front of a near capacity crowd wanting to see history in the making.

Election Results. Stan Humphries was elected the first Republican Judge/Executive since the Great Depression. Kevin Terrell, Barry Littlejohn, and Jon Goodwin won their magisterial elections. Dan Jergens and Tommy Dunn were narrowly defeated in their magisterial campaigns.

Republican County Headquarters officially opened for business in Cadiz at the old Petro Station across from Pennyrile Home Medical. All candidates for elected offices including Magistrate, Judge Executive Stan Humphries, State Representatives James Carr and Melvin Henley, State Senator Ken Winters, and Congressman Whitfield have information, signs, bumper stickers, etc, available for to the public. Everyone is encouraged to drop by and check it out.

The monthly meeting of the Trigg County Republicans was held on August 31, 2006 at 7:00 pm at the Trigg County Recreation Complex Convention Center. About 75 people were in attendance, including State Representative James Carr. Republican State Representative Lonnie Napier, who is considering a run at the Governor's Mansion, spoke to the group and to the candidates on issues, and gave advice to the Republican candidates for office on how to go about campaigning in a fair and effective way.
